Yani Vandenbranden is a Ghent based object designer and artist who combines industrial product design with furniture design. Her work rises from a great respect for the world and interests for social and ecological fields.
Her process is an experimental hands-on creative journey to expand the common understandings of an object, and to search for the essence in its tradition.
Yani wants to keep questioning every convenient core in the design process to obtain an opened mind. Therefore she focuses more on the conceptual nature of a design first, yet in further process this transforms to a generally understandable and market ready design in the hope to make objects that have a strong reason of being. This results in an interesting combination between circular and social design.
