Conceptual seating _ 6 weeks 2020 _ individual
Material research for the company Hollevoet. We wanted to create something with their waste stream of wallpaper textiles. These textiles are hard to recycle and the company has a lot of production waste to work with, yet this waste is undervalued and burned. Per production day they have a ton of production waste.
The idea was to make a durable upcycled tile with this waste to offer a flooring tile to combine with Hollevoet’s assortiment of wall-coverings out of the production waste of these wallcoverings. I up-cycled these pieces into strong durable tiles that can be downgradad back into single layers to redo the process after the tile his life cycle in terms of a circular business model. This circular story is applicable in the wallpaper company itself, an intern production.
